Joe will be performing at Summer Playland Festival in Vancouver on July 8th, 2012!

Vancouver pop-rockers Marianas Trench, Jonas Brothers’ Joe Jonas, American pop-rockers OneRepublic, Juno-winning electro act Dragonette, and Mission-born pop sensation Carly Rae Jepsen are but a few of the names that will take part in the Pacific National Exhibition’s new music festival, taking place July 6-8.

Revealed in a social media blitz Tuesday, the Summer Playland Festival will cater mainly to teen audiences and will feature a roster of 21 acts performing over three days.

“We’re thrilled to be able to offer this incredible teen summer music festival and believe it will be a great way for youth to kick off the summer season,” PNE president and CEO Mike McDaniel said in a statement.

Tickets to the festival, which will feature music on two stages, will also grant access to the rides at Playland.

Seven musical acts will perform each day, with a roster that also includes up-and-coming pop talents such as Toronto’s Neverest and Kristina Maria, Montreal’s The New Cities and Surrey-based pop-R&B act The Proper Villains.

Single day ticket prices range from $59 to $129, while three-day passes will go for $159 to $329.

Both go on sale Saturday via Ticket Leader (www.ticketleader.ca or 1-888-236-2947) or www.PNE.ca. They will also be available in person at the Coliseum box office.

With three hugely successful albums under their belts, The Jonas Brothers have decided it was time to go in a different direction when it comes to their upcoming album.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Nick, Kevin, and Joe Jonas have made a decision to part ways with their record label, Hollywood records.

“This was a decision that we made as a group,” Nick explained. “Naturally, as with any partnership, when you do part ways, there is emotion tied to it. We’ve been blessed to have a lot of success with Hollywood and with Disney, but speaking on behalf of my brothers and our team, we’re all looking forward to this next chapter. We’re ready for that next step as a group, and being able to take our work with us was so important.”

A representative from Hollywood records has spoken out on the change, revealing that the parting was in good nature. “Hollywood Records and Jonas Brothers have amicably ended an amazingly successful partnership after six years. … We couldn’t have asked for better partners or nicer people to work with. We wish Nick, Kevin, and Joe all the best in their future endeavors.”

The guys have revealed to their huge fan base that they will be reuniting after taking time off to focus on individual projects in order to record a brand new album.
