New ‘Live for Now’ campaign encourages fans to live in the moment, Jonas Brother tells MTV News.

What do Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry and Joe Jonas have in common? Well, aside from being internationally renowned pop stars, all three are involved in a new campaign Pepsi has just launched. “Live for Now” focuses on the motto “carpe diem” and celebrates spontaneity through events, digital marketing and, of course, musical partnerships.

For Jonas, the opportunity to spread that message fits with his own philosophy about living life to the fullest. “It’s, I think, a good match. A lot of stuff that I love to do is spontaneous, last minute and living in the moment,” he explained to MTV News. “And what better way to encourage people and my fans to be able to live in the moment? ‘Live for Now’ is tweeting about it and getting them involved.”

As for being the face of the campaign alongside Perry and Minaj (whose Pepsi ads already debuted), well, for Joe, that was icing on the cake. “I’m in great company: Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, more people to come, it’s an incredible little circle right now,” he explained.

“So, hopefully, we’ll all be able to do something together one day. But, as for now, just being able to do it individually and encourage their fans, my fans to get out there, or whomever, and be able to send in their little videos or pictures of them doing things that are in the moment.”

And, he added, those moments can be big or small. “I love being able to travel, take trips,” he said. “I called my buddies up. I literally called one of my best friends [brother-in-law Mikey Deleasa], he showed up to my house in New York, and I’m like, ‘Hey, what are you doing tomorrow? Let’s go to Vegas. Let’s do it!’ We had an incredible trip. We went to the Mayweather fight, and living in the moment and having a good time.

“But, if you can’t take Vegas trips on the weekend, there’s amazing things to do probably in your area,” he added. “Or, a road trip with your friends is always great.”

Earlier this month, Pepsi announced that Michael Jackson, who struck a deal with the brand in 1984, will be featured on Pepsi cans as a part of the campaign. The cans arrive Stateside later this month.

Joe Jonas THE CHOICE TV PROMO
Filed under: Joe | Posted by: | May 11th, 2012

Joe

Joe Jonas, Tyson Beckford, Rob Kardashian, Carmen Electra, Playboy playmate Hope Dworaczyk, NFL star Warren Sapp and DJ Pauly D are among those who will look for love on Fox’s upcoming reality dating series The Choice. Filmed in front of a live audience, each episode begins with four of the world’s most eligible bachelors sitting in rotating chairs, turning their backs on love and unable to see the attractive singles looking for a date with fame. In this initial “Blind Round,” each celebrity can only use his suitors’ voices, as they share information about their life, passions, turn-ons and turn-offs – to help them make The Choice.

When the celebrity bachelor likes what he hears, he pulls his ‘love handle,’ spinning his chair around to bring him face-to-face for the first time with his potential mate. If more than one celebrity pulls the handle, they must battle it out for her affection until the attractive single gets The Choice to pick whose dating pool she wants to swim in.

Once each bachelor has his three picks, the teams enter the ‘Speed Choice’ round, where each woman has only seconds to convince her leading man to sweep her off her feet to the final round. In the final round, love is on the line when host Cat Deeley poses a challenge question to each of the team’s final two. The stars must then make The Choice between each of their two remaining eligible ladies, whisking one away on a dream date and leaving one in no man’s land. The new show is set to debut on Fox on Thursday, June 7 at 9 PM.

Joe told Pepsi Pulse: My future is probably focusing on the band and being able to do everything I can right now to make the band bigger than it’s ever been and continue to make music that I’m proud of. Then I think music and acting is something that I want to be involved in, or also internships for other artists, whether on my own label, or making projects for each of them. I love to create.

Joe Jonas Joins The Choice TV SHOW!

TV Show

Joe Jonas has joined FOX’s upcoming celebrity dating show The Choice, reports EW.com. In each episode, four celebrities sit in spinning chairs and listen to non-famous prospective dates pitch themselves. Over the course of three rounds, the contestant pool is paired down until each celebrity has chosen their date for the evening.

‘What started out as a goof ended up being a ridiculously good format. It really feels like a hit. It was charming and funny.. [The show] works beautifully.’ Five of the episodes will feature male celebrities; one episode puts women in the power seats. The contestants were unaware who the celebrities were until moments before they went on stage, but that didn’t stop the sparks.

‘The [female contestants] took it ridiculously seriously, like they were getting married. A couple of the setups really had chemistry.’ The Choice, hosted by Cat Deeley, will be paired with Fox’s other new dating show Take Me Out on Thursday nights starting June 7.
