TThe Jonas Brothers are Disney Channel stars no longer. The sibling trio’s television show, “Jonas L.A.,” has been cancelled, the network confirmed in an official statement Monday night (Nov. 8).
“We’ve been fortunate to work with the enormously talented Jonas Brothers on several projects, including the Emmy-nominated series ‘Jonas L.A.,’ reads Disney’s statement. “The series has concluded as scheduled after two very successful seasons, and all original episodes of its second season have aired.”
News of “Jonas L.A.’s” cancellation first spread over the weekend, when the show’s director Paul Hoen wrote, “Sadly no more Jonas LA,” on Twitter. The message was later deleted but reported on by HollywoodLife.com.
In its statement, Disney added that despite the series’ cancellation, it will continue to work with the Jonas Brothers on their music through its record label. “The Jonas Brothers are currently busy wrapping up their 40+ city concert tour and will soon be back in the studio working on music projects for Disney’s Hollywood Records. We look forward to working with them on new projects in the future.”
Previously named “Jonas,” “Jonas L.A.” received a 2010 Emmy nomination for outstanding children program, along with fellow Disney shows “Wizards of Waverly Place” and “Hannah Montana.”
“JONAS L.A.” is heading for another closure and Jonas Brothers and their co-stars appear in a behind-the-scene video to reveal why it’s a “grand finale”. Joe Jonas says, “This is a big episode for Joe and Stella”. As said, Joe would be trying to catch up with heart-broken Stella who drives to the LAX for a trip back to New Jersey.
Meanwhile, as rumors swirl that JONAS are breaking up, the guys plan a surprise end of summer concert for their fans to prove that they are staying together. Macy who organizes for the concert is in panic for Nick is the only one showing up at the venue while Joe is still chasing after Stella and Kevin is nowhere in sight.
“Band of Brothers” which is the third season finale would air on October 3. “In the finale episode, there are a lot of questions answered,” Joe teases, adding that fans will find out something “special”.
As for the extent of “JONAS L.A.”, Joe previously admitted to not knowing whether there would be another season. “We’re keeping it open until people let us know,” he said in an interview. “We’ve got lots of other stuff going for us right now, but we’ll keep you guys updated.”
Joe in fact is a busy body for he’s preparing a solo album in addition to taking TV roles including the secret project he’s doing for Tom Hanks.

In the upcoming episode “On The Radio,” when rumors swirl that JONAS is breaking up, Kevin, Joe and Nick go on a radio show to let their fans know the band is still together.
During the interview, the guys discover that they have each been secretly working on their own side projects; Nick on a solo music project, Joe has been offered a role in a movie shooting in a distant and exotic location and Kevin has been approached by David Henrie to direct his first feature film.
“On The Radio” premieres Sunday, September 26 @ 9PM ET/PT on Disney Channel.

‘We’re gonna have some friendly competition,’ Joe tells MTV News about fellow Disney Channel nominees.
Later this month, the Jonas Brothers may add Emmy Award winners to their list of accomplishments. The JoBros’ hit Disney Channel show “JONAS” is nominated for Outstanding Children’s Program and they’ll be competing with some fellow Disney stars when the awards show airs on August 29.
“JONAS” (now known as “JONAS L.A.”), kicked off its second season earlier this summer and has been doing well in the ratings. Still, the guys admitted they’re a bit floored by the accolade.
“We are very super excited! We’ve never been up for an Emmy before,” Joe told MTV News. “That’s never been on our radar, so something like that’s really exciting. We don’t know who will win.”
They find out in a few weeks, but a win means they’ll have to beat out some of their TV pals. Other nominees in the category include “Hannah Montana,” “Wizards of Waverly Place” and the Nickelodeon series “iCarly.”
“There’s a lot of Disney in there, so I think we’re gonna have some friendly competition going on there,” Joe added. “Me and ['Wizards' star] David Henrie, we’ve been talking to each other and kind of making fun of each other here and there about the Emmy thing. But whoever wins, it’ll be cool for us to be honored. … That is amazing in general.”
In addition to the Emmy nod, the guys have seen their highest ratings since the show debuted in 2009, with 4.2 million people tuning in to a recent episode.
“That’s really crazy that you can have that many people watch a cable show. We’re really blown away by it,” Kevin gushed.
So what’s the secret to their latest success?
“I think the continuous story line has really been intriguing for people,” Nick explained. “It’s good to see that the hard work we put into making the show is paying off in a way and hopefully it’ll continue to do it’s thing.”
