Joe Jonas Shares His ‘Camp Rock 2′ Tour Must: ‘I Like To Pull Pranks’
Written By Stella on Aug 14, 2010 | Filed Under: Joe, Jonas Brothers, Tour Updates

Joe, Nick and Kevin Jonas are pretty used to hitting the road together, which is why when they were planning their latest trek with Demi Lovato and the entire “Camp Rock 2″ crew they figured they might not even need a personal assistant to help them with their day to day. You see, these guys aren’t much for off-stage diva theatrics.

“Kevin’s dog [is a diva],” Joe joked! “We’re not very big divas. We weren’t even going to have a personal assistant this tour, but it worked out we could have one.” He later added, “I like to pull pranks.”

Really? Like what kinds? Well, apparently the kind of hijinx that can be pulled right in front of the audience’s eyes. “Pranks are funny,” Kevin shared. “It’s weird cause you do things to people more on stage that other people would never even realize, like we can have moments on stage where me and Joe are talking and you’d never even know it. But, were having a full on conversation.”

So when the guys aren’t pulling in-your-face-if-you’re-paying-attention pranks, what are they doing with their off time? “We ride those things, those scooters are fun!” Joe said. “We play video games. We hang out. I like to read, play with Kevin’s little dog.”

Jonas Brothers Are ‘Super Excited’ About ‘JONAS’ Emmy Nod
Written By Stella on Aug 13, 2010 | Filed Under: JONAS, Jonas Brothers

‘We’re gonna have some friendly competition,’ Joe tells MTV News about fellow Disney Channel nominees.
Later this month, the Jonas Brothers may add Emmy Award winners to their list of accomplishments. The JoBros’ hit Disney Channel show “JONAS” is nominated for Outstanding Children’s Program and they’ll be competing with some fellow Disney stars when the awards show airs on August 29.

“JONAS” (now known as “JONAS L.A.”), kicked off its second season earlier this summer and has been doing well in the ratings. Still, the guys admitted they’re a bit floored by the accolade.

“We are very super excited! We’ve never been up for an Emmy before,” Joe told MTV News. “That’s never been on our radar, so something like that’s really exciting. We don’t know who will win.”

They find out in a few weeks, but a win means they’ll have to beat out some of their TV pals. Other nominees in the category include “Hannah Montana,” “Wizards of Waverly Place” and the Nickelodeon series “iCarly.”

“There’s a lot of Disney in there, so I think we’re gonna have some friendly competition going on there,” Joe added. “Me and ['Wizards' star] David Henrie, we’ve been talking to each other and kind of making fun of each other here and there about the Emmy thing. But whoever wins, it’ll be cool for us to be honored. … That is amazing in general.”

In addition to the Emmy nod, the guys have seen their highest ratings since the show debuted in 2009, with 4.2 million people tuning in to a recent episode.

“That’s really crazy that you can have that many people watch a cable show. We’re really blown away by it,” Kevin gushed.

So what’s the secret to their latest success?

“I think the continuous story line has really been intriguing for people,” Nick explained. “It’s good to see that the hard work we put into making the show is paying off in a way and hopefully it’ll continue to do it’s thing.”

Joe Jonas Says He’s ‘Working On Lots Of Music’
Written By Stella on Aug 11, 2010 | Filed Under: Joe

‘I’ve heard it,’ brother Nick says of Joe’s solo material. ‘It’s awesome.’
While his brother Nick released a solo album earlier this year under his side project Nick Jonas and the Administration, Joe Jonas says he has no formal plans to go solo himself. But the middle Jonas, who made a cameo this week on TV Land’s “Hot in Cleveland,” admits he is working on some new music.

“I didn’t say that,” he laughed when MTV News asked about a solo LP. “I said I’ve been working on lots of music. I’ve been working [with] lots of musicians having a great time.”

While he wouldn’t get specific about what it is he’s working on, or whom he’s working on it with, Joe did add, “[I have] been writing with a lot of friends of mine and some artists here and there, and we’ll see what comes out it.”

So, in the event that he does release some independent work, will he borrow Nick’s band name? “I leave the Administration stuff to Nick,” he quipped.

Whatever he decides, it seems he’s got the full support of his bros. “I’ve heard it. It’s awesome,” Nick said, before Kevin chimed in, “It’s really good music.”

With both Nick and Joe making strides to pursue their own endeavors apart from the band, we wondered, what has big brother Kevin been up to?

“I’ve just been really enjoying the first year of marriage,” he explained. “So far, there’s a couple things in the pipeline for me and, I don’t know. There’s a lot going on and I just want to explore every option.”

How did Joe Jonas react to working with Betty White?

By “totally geeking out [and] taking pictures,” he tells TVGuide.com.

Joe Jonas wants to go from Disney to the dark side

On Wednesday’s Hot in Cleveland, which stars Valerie Bertinelli , Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick, the 20-year-old guest-stars as the son of Melanie (Bertinelli). He’s stopping by to say hi on his way to college.

Considering the actor is much younger than the show’s stars as well as notable guest stars like Carl Reiner (88) and Tim Conway (76), Jonas asserts, “the scenes are really funny … anyone from any age will get the role and enjoy it.”

Jonas adds that his whole family (that includes famous brothers and bandmates Nick and Kevin) is a fan of Bertinelli’s and that he learned a lot from the cast, “especially making mistakes and not feeling embarrassed about it.”

Jonas especially enjoyed working with the 88-year-old White.

“It was such an honor, so I took as many pictures as I could. [Our] scenes together are pretty funny … people are going to laugh when they see us together,” he says.

Jonas Brothers Give ‘Camp Rock 2′ Tourmates Tips For The Road
Written By Stella on Aug 10, 2010 | Filed Under: Jonas Brothers, Tour Updates

‘They’re all kind of newbies to touring,’ Joe tells MTV News of doling out ‘helpful hints.’
The Jonas Brothers are veterans of the road. They’ve been on countless tours in countless cities and logged numerous hours onstage. So when they launched their latest tour over the weekend with a Chicago stop, they were already prepared for the ups and downs of life away from home. But they weren’t sure that the “Camp Rock 2″ pals joining them were ready for the challenges, so the JoBros made sure to give them some useful advice.

“It’s been a lot of fun,” Joe Jonas told MTV News about making the trek with their tourmates. “We had a great time shooting the movie with these guys, so to kind of be backstage and there’s a lot of people on this tour — everything from dancers to new bands to musicians to actors — you know, the actors that are musicians, it’s cool for us to hang out with them.”

While it may be all fun and games for the Jonases, the trio know that touring life may not come as easily to their pals.

“They’re all kind of newbies to touring, and we’ve been doing this for quite a while now,” Joe added. “So I think it’s kind of like, we’re giving them helpful hints here and there that we’ve learned over the past few years.”

So what kind of sage advice does Joe and his brothers give?

“You know, make sure you drink tons of water before you go onstage,” he advised. “Don’t eat a big meal or you’ll feel heavy onstage.”

From The Bad Idea Department: Jonas Brothers Challenge Yankees
Written By Stella on Aug 8, 2010 | Filed Under: Jonas Brothers

Before he was required to rock the Yankees haircut, Nick thought about fronting his own pop boy band, “The Swisher Siblings.”
The Jonas Brothers are huge softball players, so much so that they’ve built a team around themselves along with their dad and touring crew called the Road Dogs. Kevin pitches, Joe is a right fielder, and Nick plays third base. They’ve managed to squeeze in a game before their latest big tour kickoff in Chicago, unfortunately falling to employees of Marquis Jet, the company that flies them to tour destinations, 14-12. Perhaps they should consider hiring Barry Bonds as a “roadie” for a little more run support, or Jennie Finch if Kevin’s man enough to surrender the ball to a real pro.

When asked who they’d like to play next, Kevin said “The Yankees.” Um, Kevin, not to get too far ahead, but you just surrendered 14 runs to the Marquis Jet scrubs. Take it slow there, cowboy. “I think it’d be fun,” added Nick. “I think the Yankees would be a challenge.” One slight clarification, Nick. The Yankees are certainly a challenge … for a team like the Minnesota Twins. Better focus on your next game, which happens to be against the mighty ESPN G.O.A.T.S. on August 13 in New Britain, CT. The charity event will feature “The Talented Mr. Roto” Matthew Berry, Mike Greenberg, Michelle Beadle of “SportsNation,” NFL analyst and former All-Pro defensive end Marcellus Wiley, and “Baseball Tonight” analyst and former MLB player Eduardo Perez.

The boys also offered up a tantalizing rivalry against another band of brothers. “Kings of Leon,” Kevin said. “We challenge Kings of Leon to a game of softball. That’d be rad. They’re some Southern boys. I bet you they play some baseball.” They shouldn’t be a problem, however, since that group is particularly susceptible to something as mundane as pigeon poo. Still, as long as they’re in the softball throwdown business, here are a few other teams they should consider taking on:
Smash Mouth Footballs
It’s time to see what the jock-iest band of all time next to Hootie and the Blowfish is made of. Speaking of which …

The Blowfish
Here’s hoping the Dolphins aren’t the only team that’ll make Darius Rucker cry.

Poison Ivies
Vince Neil and Tommy Lee must still have some pop in the tank from their glory days playing the MTV Rock N’ Jock Softball circuit.

Bell Biv Devoe Motownphillies
We just want to see the Phanatic dancing to “Poison” (the song, not the band).

Justin Bieber Beavers
As long as Justin is going to front American culture, he might as well get to know the national past time. Kid needs to work on his delivery, though.

Bad idea or not, would you like to see the Road Dogs against the Yankees in a softball game? What about against the 2010 National All-Star team?
