As part of the effort to help rebuild and restore the Jersey Shore — which was devastated, along with many other coastal areas, by Hurricane Sandy last week – MTV (a division of Viacom Inc., NASDAQ: VIAB) has produced a one hour fundraising special called “Restore the Shore.” The special encouraged people nationwide to contribute to the rebuilding of Seaside Heights, the heart of the Jersey Shore and home to one of MTV’s most popular shows, “Jersey Shore.”
The special runed LIVE from MTV’s Times Square Studio on Thursday, November 15th at 11pm ET, tape delayed PT on air, online and on mobile and featured the cast of the “Jersey Shore” along with other special guest appearances.
For this fundraising effort, MTV is partnering with Architecture for Humanity, an internationally recognized non-profit organization that provides design and construction services to communities in need. The organization will create a “Restore the Shore” fund to collect donations that will be principally directed toward the rebuilding of the famed Seaside Heights boardwalk, as well as supporting the re-building efforts of businesses and residents in the community that were so tragically affected by this historic storm. Architecture for Humanity has been helping communities rebuild after natural disasters for more than a decade, including major efforts in Biloxi and New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina and in Haiti after the devastating earthquake in 2010.
Actor and singer Joe Jonas shares a peek at his life on the road as a pop star by premiering his newest video for the track “All This Time”. The single is taken from the young singer’s debut solo studio album “Fastlife”, which was released back in October 2011.
Though the album was launched quite some time ago, the video for “All This Time” just appeared online via the former Disney actor’s VEVO page. In the new clip, fans get to see the 23-year-old pop-rock star as he jumps from show to show doing rehearsals and a lot of dance numbers on stage with his band and back up dancers. In between the busy concert preparations, Jonas is also seen greeting, waving, and hugging screaming and delighted female fans who cannot seem to get enough of the Jonas Brothers member.
The upbeat video also features a good mix of raw, documentary-style footage of Jonas travelling the world to perform at different venues for his fans. The cameras also catch Jonas doing work on his music, tinkering with studio synthesizers and mixers, and then joining the parties at dance clubs.
There is of course the usual dose of meet-and-greet moments of the singer/dancer on the streets, a couple of quick montage scenes including the live audience, recording equipment, and a buff-looking dog during Jonas backstage rehearsals. All elements that make for a great road trip seem to be present in this fun-filled video.
“I think my life has been so crazy busy for the past year and a half, and I kind of wanted to show people a little bit more of what my life is about, bring them into it a little bit more, so that’s been a fun experience,” said Jonas to MTV news back in 2011 about his songs and solo album.
Ryan called Kevin, Joe, and Nick during “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” Wednesday to invite the boy band to join KIIS FM’s Jingle Ball Concert. The Jonas Brothers accepted and are now set to perform on December 1st alongside Ellie Goulding, Ne-Yo, and Taylor Swift!
The boys admit, “It’s been a minute since we played at Jingle Ball, so it should be incredible. We are really looking forward to it.”
How Was It Performing In Russia?
Joe recalls, “Russia is awesome. I think it’s very glamorous. It’s got some of the craziest buildings I’ve ever seen. No joke. They’re are multiple buildings made out of gold. The people are really nice. The food is a little heavy with meat and potatoes.” Are the women beautiful? Nick chimes in, “No, it was definitely not tough to be there for a week. It’s good scenery.”
Do They Have An Album Name Yet?
Although the boys haven’t formally decided on an album title they joke, “I think we’re going to go with ‘Meat & Potatoes‘!”
On ‘Interactive’ Performances In Russia:
Kevin says, “Yes, they’ve done some unique things that we’ve never seen. During one of our songs ‘Fly With Me‘ they started throwing paper airplanes. In one of our new songs ‘Let’s Go‘ everyone in the audience through glitter and confetti in the air. It became this crazy party. It was awesome.”
Jonas Brothers hit up the 2012 MTV EMAs held at Festhalle Frankfurt in Frankfurt, Germany on Sunday night (November 11).
Nick and Kevin joined Joe at the event, where he was nominated for Best Stage Award.
The trio also presented an award on stage.
“The vibe right now that we’re trying to create, we’ve kind of a really memorable and a career we’re really thankful for up until this time, [and now we're] hoping to create an experience for our fans that is really personal and shows a little bit deeper look into what our lives have been like, as far as lyrics,”
Pop star Joe Jonas has called on his fans for sponsorship as he grows a moustache to raise funds to fight prostate and testicular cancer.
The Lovebug hitmaker is taking part in the annual Movember event, which requires participants around the world to grow their facial hair throughout the month of November to draw attention to men’s health issues.
Jonas launched his fundraising page on the Movember.com website on Friday (09Nov12) by posting a photo of his progress, and he has reached out to his Twitter.com followers asking them to donate what they can.
He writes, “Doing my part to raise Money and Awareness for Prostate Cancer. Help me and My Mustache by donating! Thanks!”
